  這是20世紀世界最傑出法國攝影大師 MAC RIBOUD在黃山多次訪問攝影的,主編是Jacquelin Kennedy (賈桂琳‧甘乃迺、歐納西斯)由DOUBLEDAY出版,現在這本書已不再版,是收藏家的最佳收藏品。

  黃山乃中國名勝,奇石、松樹更是引人入勝。此本書為黃山攝影全記錄,呈現黃山的美,捕捉黃山的美在任何時候都令人驚喜。有些拍出有如中國國畫般清靈俊逸叢山之美。還有大自然造物神奇的岩石之變。一窺黃山之貌。

  On the right bank of the Yangtze River, 310miles west of Shanghai, the granite of the Huang Shan range, with its pine trees hundreds of years old, are almost always enveloped in mist.

  As far back as the Tang and Sung dynasties, the mountain has inspired the painters, poets, monks, and lovers who even today contiuue to climb the thousands of steps carved in the rock. The spectacle revealed is so close to painting that one cannot help wondering whether Chinese painters are faithful redlists or the creators of a certain sytle. Or has nature simply imitated art?

  Today a milliln Chinese a year and a handful of foreigners scale the Capiral of Heaven, from whose summit the mists, when parted by the wind, reveal the most beautiful landscape in the world.

  A place of pilgrimage for poets and painters, the Huang Shan is a permanent embodiment of the Chinese soul, which no upheaval or repression--no matter how violent--cna destroy. ”Broken land--mountains, rivers dndure,” wore Tu Fu in the eighth century. Photographer Mark Riboud and poet Fuancois Cheng bear witness to this timeless China.

  Since 1957, Mark Riboud has spent a good deal of time focusing his lens on China, to which he has already consenrated two of his most beautiful works: The Three Banners of China ( Macmillan, 1966 ) and Visions of China ( Pantheon Books, 1981 ). ”For me, places are like friends; I want to see them again, to know what is happing to them,” he says. In the past thiry years, he has often returned to China to photograph the construction projects and the parades of the Mao era, then effervescence of China\’s opening to the world.

  Today he turns his eye on image of slence. ”To contemplate a beautiful landscape is much like listening to music or reading poetry; it helps one live,” he writes. ”The mists, the shadows, the falling night purify forms, heighten the rhymes, and punctuate the rhlyhems. The eye brims over with please.” He knows the highest of the eye\’s pleasure: the Huang Shan.
